Ifeanyiubah FC’s 3-1 victory over Sunshine Stars of Akure has given coach Ladan Bosso hope that his side can qualify for a CAF club competition.

Bosso’s side thrashed Stars 3-1 in their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Matchday 16 encounter on Sunday in Nnewi.

This was Ifeanyiubah’s second victory in their last two league games and they are now placed 11th on the NPFL standings - two points behind third-placed Akwa United.

The Ifeanyiubah gaffer says with the current form of his lads, they are very hopeful for a continental ticket at the end of the season.

“In preparing for this game, we recognized that Sunshine Stars had twice come to the East this season to split points with Rangers and Abia Warriors and we were determined to check them,” he told league’s official website.

“We worked hard for the victory, it was well deserved and we remain resolute to play in the continent next season.”

Ifeanyiubah will now travel to the U.J Esuene Stadium where they are scheduled to face Enyimba on Sunday.
