Aduana Stars coach Yusif Abubakar has praised his side for their emphatic 6-1 win over Fosa Juniors in the CAF Confederation Cup this past weekend.
The Ghana Premier League champions hammered the Madagascan side in the first leg of their playoff tie on Sunday, with Elvis Opoku, Sam Adams, Zakaria Mumuni and Bright Adjei sharing the goals between them.
Stars found themselves 1-0 down early on, but showed a great attitude to shrug off the early blow, according to coach Abubakar.
"It was a good game, it was not easy but the mental toughness to come back after going down in three minutes was good,” he explained.
"So when they scored the first goal, if you don't have the character, you cannot stand and make sure you equalize and get ahead.”
The Ghanaian side will fancy their chances of wrapping up qualification for the Confed Cup group stage when they face Fosa in Mahajanga next week Wednesday.
