Wydad Casablanca coach Faouzi Benzarti has expressed satisfaction with his team as they prepare to face Raja Casablanca in a high-profile derby on Saturday evening.
The reigning African champions, who have had a tough 2017/18 Botola Pro season and currently sit in fifth place on the log, hit top form on Sunday when they thrashed Olympique Khourigba 5-2.
This followed a narrow victory over Racing de Casablanca last week, as Wydad begin to move through the gears ahead of the start of the group stage of the CAF Champions League next month.
"Such a wide victory is a pleasure, especially after the short and difficult victory against RAC [Racing] where I was not really happy," the coach told the post-match press briefing, as quoted by Al Massae.
"We were able to correct a few mistakes, especially in terms of player positioning. But I admit it is not easy to put five goals against a club like OCK [Khourigba].”
The Tunisian tactician added that he and his team are confident ahead of the showdown with Raja at Stade Mohamed V on April 14.
"We lost to kicks in the first leg. A match we do not deserve to lose. Today we have a strong team and we will play this game for the win,” Benzarti asserted.
