Algerian defender Faouzi Ghoulam reportedly has a ‘half agreement’ in place to join Manchester United from Napoli.
Though the Fennec Foxes left-back remains sidelined after successive knee injuries and signed a new contract with the Serie A club earlier this year, he remains the subject of major transfer speculation.
According to RAI Sport journalist Ciro Venerato there is already a ‘half agreement’ in place for Ghoulam to move to United.
“Is Ghoulam covered by Manchester United? Yes, he’s a champion, and despite the injury, he remains a man on the transfer market. United keep thinking about him,” said Venerato.
“Between October and November, there was already a half agreement with Jorge Mendes [Ghoulam’s agent] to bring Alex Grimaldo [from Benfica] in blue [to Napoli] and Ghoulam to Manchester, but everything still needs to be concluded.”
United will be in the market for a left-back when the season closes, as manager Jose Mourinho has apparently lost faith in Luke Shaw, while current incumbent Ashley Young will be 33 by the time the 2018/19 campaign gets underway.
