PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Vincent Aboubakar – His Ligue 1 record broken by Karl Toko-Ekambi

Vincent Aboubakar has seen his record for the most goals by a Cameroonian in a Ligue 1 season broken by Karl Toko-Ekambi.

Aboubakar set a record of 16 goals during the 2013/14 campaign with Lorient, but this has now been eclipsed.

Toko-Ekambi scored his 17th goal of the current Ligue 1 season when he netted in Angers’ 1-1 draw at home to Strasbourg this past weekend.

Aboubakar, meanwhile, will look to break his scoring drought this weekend when Porto play away to Benfica in a potential Primeira Liga decider.

Aboubakar’s side head to Estadio da Luz in Lisbon trailing Liga leaders Benfica by just a single point. However, overcoming the Eagles – who have won nine straight matches and have yet to lose in 2018 – will be no easy task.

The eagerly anticipated clash will kick-off at 19h00 CAT on Sunday evening.
