Cape Town City and SuperSport United will battle for three Absa Premiership points when they meet at Athlone Stadium on 14 April 2018, kick-off at 20h15.
City have claimed just one win in their last eight league matches after they drew 1-1 away to Maritzburg United on April 7. Were it not for a late equaliser from Masud Juma, the Cape side would have come into this game on the back of two straight losses.
The Citizens have claimed 19 points from 13 home matches this season, though their last game as hosts brought a 1-0 loss at the hands of Golden Arrows in early April.
SuperSport have gone six league matches without a win after a 0-0 draw at home to Orlando Pirates on April 11. The sequence of results has brought the Tshwane side four points from a possible 18 as they remain just above the relegation zone.
Matsatsantsa have claimed just 10 points from 13 away matches this season and they haven’t won on the road since beating Maritzburg United 1-0 in mid-January.
In head-to-head stats, City and SuperSport have met in three league matches since the start of last season. United took four points off the Citizens last term, while the teams’ meeting earlier in this campaign ended in a 1-1 draw in Tshwane back in December 2017, with Aubrey Ngoma’s opener for the visitors cancelled out by Azubuike Egwuekwe.
City’s line-up from their 1-1 draw with Maritzburg on April 7: Stephens, Mkhize, Fielies, Johannes, Seedat, Putsche, Nodada, Matsi (Kateregga 69’), Martin, Ralani, Moseamedi (Juma 63’).
SuperSport’s line-up from their 0-0 draw with Pirates on April 11: Williams, Nhlapo, Kekana, Daniels, Boateng, Furman, Lethsolonyane (Webber 83’), Phala, Mokoena, Modiba (Mnyamane 57’), Rusike.
