Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand says Egypt and Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah is far from reaching Cristiano Ronaldo’s level.
Although he said the attacker is having a great season in Europe, the defender said Salah must have consistency in his game to reach Ronaldo’s quality.
The 25-year-old forward has netted 39 goals for Liverpool in all competitions and is the English Premier League’s top scorer with 29 strikes.
In the UEFA Champions League, the Pharaohs international has found the back of the net on eight occasions helping the Reds reach the semi-finals.
His goals in the European competition have helped him break Samuel Eto’o’s record as the only African to have netted eight goals in the UEFA.
“He is actually shiowcasing a great display, However, to put things in place, Salah is having an unbelievable season,” he told BT Sport.
“But he has to play like that for 15 years in order to achieve what Ronaldo did.”
The Reds defeated Manchester City via a 5-1 aggregate win to reach the semi-finals and the draw for the Last Four will be conducted on Friday.
