Chippa United will target another victory in the Absa Premiership when they host Ajax Cape Town at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on 15 April 2018, kick-off at 15h00.

Chippa claimed a second win from their last three league matches when they thumped Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 in Soweto on April 7. Thabo Rakhale, Mxolisi Machupu and Edward Manqele scored the goals in a famous victory for the Eastern Cape side.

The Chilli Boys have claimed 18 points from 13 home matches this season, with their last game as hosts bringing a 1-0 win over Free State Stars in mid-March.

Ajax claimed their seventh win of the season when they defeated Bidvest Wits 1-0 at home on April 11. The Cape Town side found themselves just one point from safety following the midweek victory.

The Urban Warriors have claimed just three points from 13 away matches this season, with zero wins on the road to their name. Their last three away games have ended in defeats at the hands of Golden Arrows, Bloemfontein Celtic and AmaZulu.

In head-to-head stats, Ajax and Chippa have met in nine league matches since 2012/13. The Urban Warriors have claimed five wins compared to just one for the Chilli Boys, while three matches have been drawn. The Port Elizabeth side has recorded one win, two draws and one defeat from four turns as hosts in this rivalry.

When the teams met earlier this season, Ajax claimed a 1-0 home in December 2017 thanks to a goal from Thabo Mosadi. It was a third successive 1-0 win for the Urban Warriors over the Chilli Boys and extended their unbeaten run in the rivalry to four matches.
