In the 35th minute Sundowns doubled their lead with Tau once again providing a pin poiny pass for Vilakazi to slot home, 2-0.
Wits tried to find their way back into the game but entered the half time break trailing by two goals.
The second half started slowly with the first secent effort of the half coming just after the hour mark when Hlompo Kekana tried to beat Keet from inside his own half, but the keeper was alert to the danger and made a save.
Sundowns took their foot off the pedal after that, but Wits threw players forward in attack.
Elias Pelembe came close to pulling a goal back in the 80th minute, but he fired his 18-yard shot inches wide of the target.
