In the wake of their 2-0 loss at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns in the Absa Premiership on Saturday night, Bivdest Wits coach Gavin Hunt was left disappointed.
Hunt lamented the goals they conceded at Loftus Versfeld Stadium as the log leaders walked away with a win to reach 52 points at the summit.
The Clever Boys failed to stop the Brazilians as the reigning champions conceded twice through Themba Zwane and Sibusiso Vilakazi’s goals.
Speaking after the match, Hunt said they hoped to get something from their two games on the road against Ajax Cape Town and Sundowns, but which both ultimately ended in defeats.
“We gave them two goals. The same player made the same mistake twice. You can’t give a team a start like that, we gave them a start,” Hunt told SuperSport TV.
“The second half we were a little better, more competitive. There are moments where we should have done better but with two goals behind they’re a force you know.”
“That was always going to be tough, we tried to get something out of the two away games. We’ve been good away from home this year surprisingly.
“So I’m disappointed because we were a much better side than the performance we have put here tonight. But they’re a better side."
