Tunisian giants Club Africain have parted ways with head coach Bernard Marchard.
Marchard was in charge of the club for five months and they have confirmed the news on Facebook page this week.
The coach’s contract had been terminated by mutual consent, but the French manager could be heading to Algeria.
It is reported that USM Alger have already shown interest in the former Etoile Sportive du Sahel boss.
“It was agreed to amicably terminate the contract between coach Bertrand Marchand and Club Africain,” said the club in a brief statement.
Marchard was in his second stint with Africain having previously coached the El Menzah outfit between 2005 and 2007.
He won the CAF Champions League with another Tunisian club, Etoile Sportive du Sahel in 2007 before coaching the Carthage Eagles in 2010.
Meanwhile, USM director Abdelhakim Serrar, has since confirmed they have contacted the coach’s agent in their quest to strengthen their technical bench.
“I told him that I would like to speak directly with Mr. Marchand, and we will be ready by noon tomorrow, and Mr. Marchand has a profile that interests us,” said Serrar.
