The marksman scored a crucial goal as Beijing Guoan drew with Guangzhou Evergrande in the Chinese Super League match on Sunday.

Guoan were losing 2-1 to Evergrande when Bakambu grabbed a late equalizer in stoppage time to ensure that the encounter ended in a 2-2 stalemate.

Brazilian Renato Augusto scored a late penalty in the 90th minute to make it 2-1 for Guoan, before Bakambu netted a minute later at the Workers’ Stadium in Beijing.

This was Bakambu’s third goal in as many games for Guoan having also scored an equalizing goal as they drew 3-3 with Chongqing Dangdai Lifan away last weekend.

The most expensive African footballer has now scored three goals in four matches for Goan in his debut season in the Super League.

The 27-year-old is six goals behind the current league top scorer Shanghai SIPG attacker Lei Wu, who has played seven games.

Bakambu and his Gouan team-mates will take on Guizhou Zhicheng in their next league game on Sunday.
