Namibia head coach Ricardo Mannetti says says he is focused on rebuilding the Brave Warriors squad.
The Brave Warriors participated in the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals in Morocco and they were eliminated by the tournament hosts in the quarter-finals.
Mannetti has since stated that he is looking to bring in a lot of young players, who will learn from the senior players in the national team set-up.
“To widen a national team takes a lot of character, as most coaches are afraid of doing that because they are more focused on getting the results,” Mannetti said on the Namibian.
“My technical team and I have lately been taking bold decisions to start giving chances to other players who will take over from the current crop.
The coach also said he wants to build a good team that he can leave for whoever takes over when his time as national coach comes to an end.
“We experimented against Lesotho, and now Swaziland, and I am satisfied with the overall outcome of the two games,” he added.
“We saw players who are ready, and players who are doing well domestically, but not yet ready for the national team set-up.”
The Brave Warriors will take on Zambia in the 2018 COSAFA Cup quarter-final clash in Limpopo, South Africa on the 2nd of June 2018.
