Ghanaian champions Aduana Stars are hopeful that their home ground, the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park, will be approved by CAF for use in the group stage of the Confederation Cup.
According to Ghanasoccernet, a CAF inspection team recently visited the stadium and “were impressed with the state of the facility”.
Earlier reports in Ghana had suggested that the Fire Boys would be forced to use a different venue for the group stage games.
Stars used the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park for the first leg of their playoff tie against Fosa Juniors and secured an emphatic 6-1 win in front of their partisan home fans.
Permission to continue using the venue will be a major boost ahead of the start of the group stage next weekend.
The Ghanaians will face ASEC Mimosas, Raja Casablanca and AS Vita in Group A. They open their campaign with a trip to Abidjan to face ASEC on May 6.
