Al Ahly will play host to Esperance de Tunis in the 2018 CAF Champions League Group A match at the Borg Al Arab Stadium in Alexandria on Friday.Kick-off is at 21h00 CAT.
The Egyptian powerhouse knocked out Gabonese giants CF Mounana in the first round after being given a bye in the preliminary round.
Al Ahly, who have won this competition a record eight times, are targeting their ninth trophy this year.
Their head coach Hossam El-Badry will be hoping to mastermind a victory over a resilient Esperance side at home.
Meanwhile, Esperance qualified for the group stage after overcoming Mauritanian club ASAC Concorde and Kenyan side Gor Mahia in the qualifying rounds.
The Tunisian giants, who are two-time Champions League winners, are keen to clinch their third title this year.
Taha Yassine Khensissi and Anice Badri are Esperance’s dangermen, and they have the ability to inspire their team to victory against Al Ahly.
Botswana’s Township Rollers will face Ugandan club Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC in the other Group A game on Friday.
