Simanga Shongwe netted for Mbabane Swallows as they drew 1-1 against Zesco United in their CAF Champions League clash at levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The draw leaves the Umkhonto kaShaka with one point in the group from a single encounter.
For the hosts, George Lwandamina’s men netted through David Owino as Zesco now have one point in the group after a single match.
The CAF Champions League Group D encounter started on a low as both sides chased an early goal.
However, it was the hosts who wasted two glorious opportunities through Lazarous Kambole as they were not clinical upfront.
Despite their efforts to push for an early goal, there were no goals in the opening half.
As they emerged from the tunnel, the hoists managed to break the deadlock in the 64th minute when Owino netted.
The hosts managed to regain their dominance in the clash as they probed for their second goal, but were not disciplined at the back.
Zesco had more shots at goal towards the 70th minute, but they allowed the Swazi outfit to find an equaliser.
Shongwe found an equaliser with 10 minutes to wrap the proceedings as they scored a crucial away goal.
