Ugandan striker Dickens Kilama has signed a professional contract with Spanish side Europa Point Football Club.
The 18-year-old is a product of Uganda’s Football for Good Academy (FFG) and becomes the first international professional to emerge from FFG, which is in its fourth year in Uganda.
According to the academy founder and director Adrian Bradbury, he said they wish the player well and hope he continues to grow as a professional.
“This is an opportunity that Kilama has definitely earned. Kilama continues to grow as a player and as a person, and we’re excited at this first step into Europe for him and FFG,” he said to KawowoSports.
“His potential is unlimited and his character is already world-class. He will represent us well.”
Kilama has also been with the national U20 squad while being a part of the FFG program since January of 2015.
Following this deal, the youngster was in Spain in March where he had training stints at Segunda B Division and Europa Point FC.
Meanwhile, he is back in Uganda and will train with FFG before moving to Gibraltar in July for the 2018/19 Europa Point FC campaign.
