AmaZulu will shoot for a top-eight finish in the Absa Premiership when they host Cape Town City at King Zwelithini Stadium on 12 May 2018, kick-off at 15h00.

AmaZulu suffered a second loss from their last three league matches when they were beaten 3-2 at Bidvest Wits on April 28. The result left the Durban side in 11th place, but just one point away from the top half of the table.

Usuthu have claimed 20 points from 14 home matches this season, though their last result as hosts was a 2-1 loss at the hands of Orlando Pirates in mid-April.

City guaranteed a top-eight finish with a 1-0 win at home to Orlando Pirates on April 28. The result broke a four-game winless streak for the Cape side.

The Citizens have claimed just 17 points from 14 away matches this season, and they haven’t won on the road since beating Platinum Stars in their first game of 2018.

In head-to-head stats, AmaZulu and City have met in just one previous league match. That encounter took place earlier this season, with the Citizens claiming a 1-0 home win thanks to a goal from Roland Putsche.

AmaZulu’s line-up from their 3-2 loss to Wits on April 28: Mbatha, Mabiliso, Sikhakhane, Gumede M, Ouro-Akoriko, Morton, Darpoh (Manzini 80'), Mnguni, Karuru, Cele (Nomvethe 68'), Khenyeza (Nyongo 70').

City’s line-up from their 1-0 win over Pirates on April 28: Stephens, Mkhize, Johannes, Fielies, Edmilson, Matsi, Nodada, Patosi (Martin 61’), Ralani (Mngonyama 74’), Lakay, Juma (Akosah-Bempah 80’).
