Maritzburg United and Lamontville Golden Arrows drew 1-1 in an Absa Premiership match at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

As a result, the Team of the Choice and Abafana Bes'thende finish the season on position four, and eighth respectively on the league standings.

It was the visitors, who broke the deadlock in the 21st minute after the Maritzburg defence exposed.

They broke the deadlock through their hard-working striker Lerato Lamola.

The experienced forward beat Maritzburg goalkeeper Richard Ofori with a neat finish to make it 1-0 to Arrows in the 20th minute.

The hosts had a chance to level matters through Mekoa in the 37th minute with Fadlu Davids' side having pressed Arrows.

However, the left-footed attacker placed his effort wide of the target with visitors failing to punish Arrows.

Arrows were able to hold on to their lead and they were leading 1-0 at the interval.

Maritzburg dominated the second-half and they managed to level matters through the hard-working Fortune Makaringe.

The midfielder beat Arrows keeper Gumede to make it 1-1 in the 82nd minute much to the delight of the home crowd.

Maritzburg and Arrows could not score in the remaining minutes and the KwaZulu-Natal Derby ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
