Nasarawa United coach Kabiru Dogo was left to rue Douglas Achiv’s first-half red card after losing to Plateau United on Sunday.

Plateau secured a 2-1 win over Nasarawa in the Nigeria Professional Football League match which was played in Jos.

Achiv was sent off in the 34th minute after receiving his second yellow card with Plateau leading 1-0.

Dogo, who disappointed after losing to Plateau for the second time this season, believes the first-half red card undid his match tactics.

“We came here hoping to size them up within 15 minutes and attack after that,” Dogo told the league’s official website.

“Then the red card came. All our game plan was shattered.

“We made changes we didn’t plan. It wasn’t easy.”

Plateau went into the game having defeated Nasarawa 1-0 in the first round clash last January.
