Nigeria and Arsenal striker Alex Iwobi has sent an emotional message after finishing their 2017/18 English Premier League campaign with a win.
The Super Eagles' forward was elated to see Arsenal end their season on a winning note following Sunday’s 1-0 EPL win against Huddersfield Town on Sunday.
For the Gunners, Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted the winning goal in the 38th minute to hand the club their first away points in 2018.
Moreover, it was manager Arsene Wenger’s last game in charge of the North London side following a 22-year tenure with the club.
The Emirates-based side finished in sixth position on the table, their worst of Wenger’s reign, but Iwobi thanked the outgoing manager.
“Good To End The Season With A Win! Emotional Knowing It’s The Boss’s Last Match, Was Only Right It Was A Win. Love To Our Fans For All Your Support This Season,” Iwobi tweeted after the game.
Iwobi started the match, but was replaced by Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the 72nd minute.
The 22-year-old made 26 league appearances this season whilst scoring three times.
