Platinum Stars coach Roger De Sa has called on his charges to take the opportunity to fight for their Absa Premiership status.

Dikwena are set to face Black Leopards on Wednesday in Thohoyandou as they kick-off the Promotional Play-Offs.

In an extraordinary turn of events, Ajax Cape Town were relegated from South Africa's top flight on Tuesday after the club was found guilty of fielding an ineligible player in Tendai Ndoro.

Initially, it was the Rustenburg-based club that was automatically relegated to the NFD, but the announcement on Tuesday changed all of that as Stars now move to 15th.

Although the Urban Warriors are set to appeal the PSL and South African Football Association's decision, the match on Wednesday afternoon is set to get underway.

De Sa admitted he and his players were waiting on the SAFA ruling before releasing their players for holiday.

"Fortunately, we managed to keep the players here," De Sa told Kick-Off.

"Obviously it is very short notice, the day before the game (but) it is what it is. We have got to take our chances and have a go at it.

"Now we have to play by the rules, get there and hopefully get the guys to perform.

"It’s a very difficult game against Leopards away from home. Now we have got to show metal.

"We’ve got to have a second bite at it and hopefully we can take advantage of the opportunity."

The encounter against Lidoda Duvha is set to be staged at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Wednesday at 15:00 (CAT).
