Arsenal have held talks with the representatives of Nice and Ivory Coast midfielder Jean-Michael Seri, according to Sky Sports.

The Gunners’ director of football, Raul Sanllehi, has opened dialogue with Seri’s agents in regards to a proposed move to the Emirates Stadium.

However, while Sanllehi rates Seri highly, any deal to bring him to London will be delayed until after Arsenal have appointed their new manager.

In addition, Chelsea are also said to be keen on signing the Elephants midfielder and will keep an eye on developments.

Seri has grown into one of Ligue 1’s best box-to-box midfielders in the past three seasons with Nice, making 30 league appearances through 2017/18.

Nice signed him from Pacos de Ferreira in 2015, after Seri began his career at ASEC Mimosas in his home country.
