Egyptian legend Mohamed Aboutrika believes Real Madrid defender Marcelo is terrified of facing Mohamed Salah in the UEFA Champions League final.
Liverpool have reached the final of the European competition and the Pharaohs’ legend says the Brazilian defender will find it difficult to close down Salah.
Aboutrika played in the 2012 Olympics with Salah and believes the Madrid left-back is terrified of the Reds forward.
Out of 51 games this season, Salah has netted 44 goals and provided 16 assists, thus establishing himself as one of Europe’s best attackers.
“Although many are writing the Reds off and insisting that Real Madrid have already won the game, I think Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané will have something to say about that,” Aboutrika told beIN Sports Mena.
“Liverpool have a big chance to win the Champions League against Real Madrid.
“I witnessed on that pitch what Salah can do to Marcelo during the Olympic Games.
“I was playing with Egypt against Brazil. Marcelo is terrified of Salah. I noticed the same thing in the Champions League when Roma played against Real Madrid [in 2016].”
The final will be staged on Saturday May 26 at NSC Olimpiysky in Ukraine at 20:45 (CAT).
