Nigeria’s Victor Moses has joined an elite list of former Super Eagles players who have lifted the English FA Cup.

Moses played the entire duration of the FA Cup final on Saturday which saw his Chelsea side register a 1-0 win over Manchester United thanks to a penalty goal from Eden Hazard.

Moses now joins the prestigious list of Nigerian players who have won the oldest Cup competition – those players include Daniel Amokachi, Celestine Babayaro, Nwankwo Kanu, John Utaka, John Mikel Obi and Alex Iwobi.

Among the first people to praise Moses was former Super Eagles captain Austin ‘Jay Jay ‘ Okocha who said he deserved the accolade.

“Congratulations Victor Moses, well deserved,” the former Paris Saint Germain midfielder wrote on his Instagram page.

Moses, himself, was ecstatic to lift the trophy after losing to Arsenal last season in the FAC Cup final with Chelsea – in a match that saw him sent off for two yellow card offences.

“It was the worst feeling ever that I’ve experienced in my career after being sent off in the final last year,” said Moses.

“I wanted to be on the pitch to help my team-mates. It has played on my mind a little bit, but there’s nothing I can do about it. I can't rewind it back.

“That’s gone now and we have won the FA Cup this year. We got it right this time and we finished the season strongly.”

Moses has now won the English Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup titles, all with Chelsea.
