The agent of Napoli’s Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly has revealed that the player is “interested in the big clubs”.
The 26-year-old centre-back, who is set to be a key man for the Teranga Lions in their 2018 World Cup campaign, is a major target for several of the heavyweights in the Premier League.
Chelsea have a long-standing interest in the defender, though the possible departure of coach Antonio Conte – who is a known admirer of Koulibaly’s talents – may well affect their chances of signing the player.
Manchester United and Arsenal have also been linked with the 1.95-metre-tall player, who is often described as a ‘man mountain’.
In regards to this speculation, Koulibaly’s agent Bruno Satin has refused to rule out a move away from Naples, though he acknowledges that the player remains under contract at the Stadio San Paolo.
"It is obvious that he is interested in the big clubs, like all the important players of Napoli, he has a contract with the club, he cannot run away.
"Now he has closed the season, unfortunately he has had the disappointment not to win the championship, but he is lucky to have the chance to go to the World Cup, he is about to leave with Senegal and it is another goal of his season.
"If he is happy at Napoli? Absolutely yes."
Koulibaly’s contract at Napoli runs until June 2021 and his market value is conservatively estimated at £50million.
