Township Rollers head coach Nikola Kavazovic says winning the Botswana Premier League (BPL) title was a cherry on top having had a successful campaign.
The Blues were crowned 2017/18 BTC Premiership champions after defeating Extension Gunners 2-0 at the National Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Serbian tactician stated that it was a nice bonus after all his team has achieved during the campaign which saw them win the Mascom Top 8 Cup and reach the CAF Champions League group stage.
"When I got to Rollers, getting the club into the CAF Champions League group stage was my first priority,” Kavazovic said.
“Then I realised how much winning the Mascom Top 8 meant to the club after missing out on the cup for about six seasons. That became my second priority.
“So winning the league is a bonus, a nice one...a nice bonus. I think we played well tonight, especially when you had such a big crowd, they got to enjoy good football,” he continued.
“But again, we repeated the negative mentality of having a two goal lead and instead of pushing for a third goal we relax.
“I wouldn't say we go into a defensive mode, but we don't put the same effort and we pull back, attack on the transition,” he added.
“But that was for a short period, for most of the game we connected effectively and beautifully.
“My message to my management is that, we should print new T shirts; instead of 'History in the Making' we should say 'History Made.”
The Blues defended the title for the third time since 2016 - clinching the trophy for a record 15th time.
