Media reports in Egypt suggest that the country’s football association president Hani AboRida confirmed that coach Héctor Cúper will not renew his contract before the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Initial reports had suggested that the Argentine coach was going to renew his contract before the tournament.
However, it is suggested that the coach's lawyer met with the EFA board, but failed to reach an agreement on Cúper’s salary.

AboRida said he talked to the 62-year-old and he is willing to renew his contract, but after the World Cup.
“Cúper doesn’t mind renewing his contract with the national team. But he asked to renew it after the World Cup so that it doesn’t feel as if we were obligated to renew before the tournament according to my conversation with him,” AboRida said.
“For me I hope he continues with the national team, especially that we have the qualifications for the AFCON in December which is two months after the World Cup.
“Most of the players want to fast. We brought a nutritionist for the players because most of them prefer to fast.
“Egypt’s group is really hard but we have a lot of ambitions for the World Cup.”
Meanwhile, the Pharaohs have three friendly games lined-up against Kuwait, Colombia and Belgium on May 25, June 1 and June 6 respectively.
