Madagascar will take on Mozambique in their maiden 2018 COSAFA Cup Group A match at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 14h00 CAT.

Barea will be back in action for the first time since March 2018 having lost 1-0 to Kosovo in an international friendly match in France.

Madagascar did well in the 2017 COSAFA Cup recording two wins and one draw, but Zimbabwe finished above them in Group B.

They will be hoping to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 2003 by finishing at the top of Group A.

Meanwhile, Mozambique will return to action for the first time since September 2017 having drawn 1-1 with Kenya at home in a friendly game.

The Mambas failed to reach the quarter-finals last year as they finished third in Group B.

They will be hoping to go all the way and reach the final for the second time having lost to Namibia in the final in 2015.

Madagascar and Mozambique have met seven times in all competitions.

The Mambas have recorded three wins compared to Barea's two victories.

Two matches ended in a draw.
