Following an injury suffered by Egyptian star Mohamed Salah last Saturday, a lawyer has filed a €1 billion lawsuit against Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.
Ramos was in a tussle against the Liverpool attacker on Saturday in the UEFA Champions League final.
In their 3-1 win, Salah was left injured with a dislocated shoulder and the injury has somewhat dented his 2018 FIFA World Cup ambitions.
With many Egyptians having reportedly signed a petition for the Spanish defender to be held accountable, an Egyptian lawyer Bassem Wahba is taking a legal route.
Although Salah is upbeat he will play for the Pharaohs in Russia, that has done nothing to quell Wahba’s apparent anger.
Speaking to an Egyptian television channel Sada El-Balad, Wahba announced he had filed a complaint to FIFA and accused Ramos of a deliberate act and inflicting "physical and psychological harm" upon a nation and its most celebrated footballer.
"Ramos intentionally injured Mo Salah and should be punished about his actions," he claimed.
"I've filed a lawsuit and a complaint to FIFA.
"I'll ask for compensation, which could exceed €1 billion, for the physical and psychological harm that Ramos gave Salah and the Egyptian people."
