Ghana star Mubarak Wakaso says he is determined to see out his contract with Spanish La Liga side Deportivo Alaves.

The 27-year-old Black Stars player joined Alaves in July 2017 from Greek side Panathinaikos and has two years remaining on his contract.

He made 21 Liga appearances through 2017/18 and helped his side finish 14th on the table – a respectable return considering Alaves were tipped to be relegated.

Wakaso has brushed off any suggestion that he will make another transfer ahead of the 2018/19 campaign, saying he is committed to the Spanish club.

“I went through the entire season without any injury or any problem and also had a good campaign as Alaves maintained their La Liga status,” Wakaso told Joy Sports.

“I can’t really talk about moving to another club right now because I still have two years left on my contract with the club, therefore, I cannot talk about moving to another club.”

Wakaso has had something of a journeyman career, representing Ashanti Gold, Elche, Villarreal, Espanyol, Rubin Kazan, Celtic, Las Palmas, Panathinaikos, Granada and Alaves.

On the international front, Wakaso made his Ghana debut in 2012 when Kwesi Appiah was enjoying his first spell in charge of the Black Stars.

The 27-year-old has reached the 50-cap mark and represented the county at the last three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
