The Cameroonian Football Federation is backing Morocco to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament.

In the statement published last week, the FECAFOOT has announced the country’s unwavering support for the North African’s bid as published in an official statement.

The country’s FA said it has considered the much-needed solidarity, which needs to exist between African football federations to promote football on the continent.

The official document also emphasised the friendship and fraternal relations which unify Cameroon and Morocco.

On the other hand, the statement also revealed that the FA has taken into account the call of the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Ahmad Ahmad, who has been urging African football federations to support Morocco 2026 since last August.

Morocco hopes to be the second African country to host the World Cup after South Africa in 2010 and a FIFA task force, which evaluates the assets of the bids on table, validated the Moroccan bid last Friday.

A Moroccan delegation is currently touring Gulf countries and will visit Abu Dhabi, Oman and Qatar to promote the bid this week.

Morocco’s bid is promising the world a vibrant and magical tournament in 2026 as well as hoping to gather more than 100 votes to be eligible to host the World Cup.
