Following their 4-1 win over Namibia on Tuesday, South African midfielder Lebohang Maboe has hailed his teammates.
The 2018 COSAFA Cup hosts were dispatched by Madagascar in the quarter-finals, demoting them to the Plate Semi-finals where they demolished the Brave Warriors.
Speaking after the match, the Man of the Match expressed pleasure with the way Bafana Bafana bounced back from their quarter-final defeat last weekend.
Maboe bagged a brace while Aubrey Modiba and Siyanda Xulu were also on target as Bafana thumped Namibia 4-1 at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The Maritzburg United midfielder believes the team showed great character to pick up a big win after Sunday's defeat.
“I think we came back very strong. We know that we lost our first game and we had showed character coming into the game, which we did very well hence we won the game,” Maboe told SuperSport TV.
“I know (laughs). If I was a lot more composed, I think I was going to score the third goal but it did not come. I’m just glad we did well as a team.”
Coach Stuart Baxter will now prepare his side for the final clash against the Zebras of Botswana who beat Swaziland on Wednesday evening.
The Plate Final will be staged at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday afternoon.
