News coming from North Africa is that Algeria want coach Rabah Madjer to be replaced by Morocco national team coach Herve Renard.

According to the Algerian FA president Kheireddine Zetchi, Renard is his primary target to replace Madjer.

Renard currently manages the Atlas Lions national team and has helped them qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Zetchi has reportedly already begun plans for life after Madjer, with the current Desert Foxes’ manager expected to be axed after their match against Portugal this week.

DZFootball reports that Madjer refuses to resign which means the FA would have to fork out the $480,000 payment package if he is to be sacked.

On the other hand, whilst Algeria chase Renard, former manager Rabah Saadane could take charge of the North Africans on a temporary basis until a permanent appointment is made.

The pressure is on Zetchi to deliver a huge managerial appointment after failing with Lucas Alcaraz and Rabah Madjer.

Formerly in charge of Zambia and Cote d’Ivoire, Renard also coached USM Alger nearly 10 years ago and has brought African glory to the Chipolopolo and the Elephants.
