Ghana defender Kasim Nuhu has expressed his pride in wearing the famed jersey of the Black Stars.
The 22-year-old Young Boys centre-back played the full 90 minutes and scored his second international goal in Ghana’s 2-2 draw with World Cup qualifiers Iceland in Reykjavik last week.
The Black Stars were 2-0 down in the friendly played last Thursday, before Nuhu struck in the 66th minute to reduce the deficit.
Ghana then secured a 2-2 draw when Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey netted late in the game. Iceland’s goals were scored in the first half by Kari Arnason and Alfredh Finnbogason.
Nuhu took to Twitter to respond to his performance in the game, saying: “It’s a work in progress. Black Stars. Much Respect for the Ghana Shirt.”
Nuhu, who hails from Accra, has been linked with a big-money move to Premier League side Newcastle United.
The former Real Mallorca player enjoyed a great 2017/18 season with Young Boys, scoring two goals in 32 appearances as they won the Swiss Super League.
