Orlando Pirates is set to announce the departure of defender Syanda Gcaba just after signing nine players on Monday.
The Sea Robbers announced the arrivals of Brilliant Khuzwayo, Linda Mntambo, Abel Mabaso, Paseka Mako, Meshack Maphangule, Asavela Mbekile, Kudakwashe Mahachi and Vincent Pule.
However, the club has since released Riyad Norodien, Brighton Mhlongo and Gcaba who was on loan at Platinum Stars.
Norodien has been sold to Cape Town City whilst Mhlongo is yet to find a club and Gcaba’s agent Mike Makaab has confirmed the news.
According to ProSport International’s Makaab, he told the IOL Sport website that Gcaba and Pirates have cut ties.
"Ayanda is leaving Pirates. His contract was up for renewal. Our team in Johannesburg is busy searching the next destination for him," Makaab said.
The left-footed defender joined the Buccaneers back in 2012 and played in several cup finals during his stint and was part of the team that lost the CAF Champions League final to Egyptian giants Al Ahly in 2013.
Meanwhile, the Soweto giants are expected to also part ways with the likes of Issa Sarr, Bernard Morrison, Abbubaker Mobara and Thamsanqa Gabuza.
On the other hand, coach Milutin Sredojevic’s men are pushing hard to secure the services of Bafana Bafana and Bidvest Wits captain, Thulani Hlatshwayo.
