After he was unveiled as the new Baroka FC coach, former Zambia national team mentor Wedson Nyirenda has praised Mamelodi Sundowns boss Pitso Mosimane.
The Chipolopolo legend described Mosimane as “a son of Africa” and is looking forward to mingling with him.
Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele have appointed the former Kaizer Chiefs striker on a two-year deal and was officially unveiled on Friday last week.
Speaking to the media, ‘Wada’ said he is looking forward to meeting Mosimane in the upcoming 2018/19 Premier Soccer League season.
Coming to his task at hand, Nyirenda said the Limpopo-based side will play good football and they will show a character of champions.
“We cannot promise mountains, but I can just say people will see a big difference and they will see good football,” said Nyirenda.
“They will see a team with a character of a champion. My biggest love of all these things is that I will be mingling with people like Pitso.
“I respect him so much, he has done great things and he is a son of Africa.
“Micho [Milutin Sredojevic] at Pirates as well and Mr [Luc] Eymael of Free State Stars. These are great guys, like Gavin Hunt who I played with at Hellenic.
“He was my captain. They have inspired me a lot and I think this is the time to rub shoulders with them.
“I have done my things in Zambia, with the national team and clubs, but now it’s time to rub shoulders.”
