The Zambian Football Association is once again looking for a coach following the resignation of Wedson Nyirenda and a Belgian has been offered the job.
Sven Vandenroek is the man FAZ has settled on for the Chipolopolo job with the 39-year-old having been handed a short-term deal.
Moreover, he is set to be the first Belgian to coach Chipolopolo as he replaces the former Zambian striker who took a job in South Africa with Baroka FC.
The Luska Times website reports that Vandenroek is also set for his debut as a head coach following stints as assistant with Tunisian club Club Africain in 2013 and the reigning African champions, Cameroon from 2016 to 2017.
It is reported that Vandenbroek competed against the likes of ex-Rwanda coach Jonathan Mckinstry, former Cape Verde boss Jose Luis Lopez and ex-Equatorial Guinea trainer Esteban Becker for the Zambia job.
He takes over from Nyirenda who quit in May after two years at the helm to take over at Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele.
