Zambian media reports indicate that Cletus Chama has gone AWOL at Lusaka Dynamos just before their clash against Zesco United.

The Lusaka Dynamos captain has left the team hotel on Sunday night without permission ahead of Wednesday’s mouth-watering clash against his former side, United.

According to the Zambian Football’s sources on the Copperbelt where the team has set base, the nimble footed midfielder was not part of Dynamos’ training session at Arthur Davies Stadium on Monday.

While ‘The Elite’ are viewed as big spenders or money bags, there have been unconfirmed reports that some players have been going for close to 2-3 months without getting paid.

“Chota left without informing the coaches. He just told his friends that he is tired of the way things are been handled at the club,” one of Chama’s close friend told the website.

The ZamFoot Crew understands that some players at Dynamos have been playing ‘under protest,’ as they haven’t been receiving their salaries delayed.

“It’s now an open secret that the club is struggling financially and the most of the players want to leave the club,” added another source

On the other hand, the timing of the Chipolopolo international’s decision has raised eyebrows after it has emerged that three South African clubs have tabled offers for the player, but the club refused to sell him.

Moreover, it is reported that there’s also an offer on the table from Team Ya Ziko where Chama spent two seasons, joining Egyptian side Al Atihad in 2016.
