The 2018 World Cup matchday 13 saw France, Denmark, Argentina and Croatia all book their places in the Round of 16.

South American side Peru overcame Asia's Australia 2-0 at the Fisht Olympic Stadium with Andre Carillo and Paolo Guerrero netting for the Incas. Despite the win, the Incas were eliminated from the competition after finishing third on the Group C standings, while fourth-placed Australia were also knocked out of the tournament.

A Group C game between France and Denmark was played at the same time at the Luzhniki Stadium. The European sides both advanced to the Round of 16 after playing to a goalless stalemate. France won the group with Denmark finishing as runners-up.

Two Group D matches took centre stage in the evening with Iceland suffering a 2-1 defeat to Croatia at the Rostov Arena. Milan Badelj and Ivan Perisic scored for the Blazers, while Gylfi Sigurdsson grabbed a late goal for Iceland's Our Boys. As a result, Croatia advanced to the Round of 16 as Group D winners, while Iceland were eliminated after finishing fourth in the group.

At the Krestovsky Stadium, Africa's Nigeria took on South American giants Argentina. Lionel Messi and Marcos Rojo both scored for Argentina, who scored a 2-1 win over Nigeria with Victor Moses scoring the Super Eagles' goal from the penalty spot. The win saw Argentina finish second in Group D and they advanced to the Round of 16, while Nigeria were knocked out after finishing third in the group.

France will take on Argentina at the Kazan Arena in the Round of 16 on June 30, while Croatia are scheduled to face Denmark Nizhny Novgorod Stadium in the next round on July 1.
