Morocco’s defender Achraf Hakimi is set to join Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga on loan from Real Madrid next season.
The 19-year-old is set to sign a deal, according to German media outlet Kicker, and the Bundesliga side is looking for a backup for Lukasz Piszczek.
According to Tribuna, the Spanish giant aims to make Hakimi a similar experience as Dani Carvajal, who played for Bayer Leverkusen during the 2012/13 season.
Moreover, the website reports that the club has not confirmed the news, but speculation is rife that the North African will arrive in Germany.
The rising star made his official debut at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in October 2017 when Real Madrid’s key defender Carvajal could not play due to injury.
Hakimi became the first Moroccan to ever score for Los Blancos on December 10 when he netted against Sevilla.
The Moroccan footballer also delivered a spectacular performance in the 2018 FIFA World Cup against the the likes of Portugal, Spain and Iran in Group B.
