The new Zambian national team coach Sven Vandenbroeck has been offered a salary of US$10,000, which exclusive of all taxes.
According to media reports in the country, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has offered the new boos a staggering amount.
The Zambian Football website reports that the government on Friday approved Vandenbroeck’s appointment as Chipolopolo coach, taking over from Wedson Nyirenda, who was also getting US$10,000 monthly salary.
A letter from permanent secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Child Development Joe Kapembwa addressed to FAZ general secretary revealed the contractual details.
Moreover, the Zambian football website has it that a letter was obtained by the Sports Mail in Lusaka on Monday indicating the government’s approval of the deal as well as giving FAZ a green light to employ the Belgian on a monthly salary of US$10,000.
The new coach will be staked with leading Chipolopolo to the 2019 CAF African Cup of Nations in Cameroon as they will meet Namibia in September.
Zambia occupy the bottom of the qualifiers group with zero points after opening with a 1-0 loss to Mozambique last year at home.
