EFL Championship club Derby County have signed Nigerian winger Aaron Eyoma on a one-year contract.
The English-born 20-year-old was a free agent, having seen out his contract at Premier League side Arsenal, and impressed the Rams after a trial period.
Eyoma gave a good account of himself in two friendly matches against the U-23 teams of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
His transfer gives him the chance to work under Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, who will be stepping into a managerial role for the first time in his career.
“I came here knowing that Derby was a big Championship club that was renowned for playing attractive football, similar to what I had been used to at Arsenal. That was a big appeal for me,” Eyoma said to Derby's official website.
“I was there for eight years and made a lot friends during that time with the players and coaches. It was a time for a fresh start, though, and I am delighted to be here.”
Eyoma departs Arsenal without having made a senior appearance for the club. He has also featured for Dutch club FC Volendam, having a loan spell from January to June in 2017.
His sibling, Tottenham Hotspur's Timothy Eyoma, was part of the England squad which won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in India last year.
