Nigeria’s Enyimba will play their home matches in the CAF Confederation Cup at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
The two-time CAF Champions League winners have been playing both domestic and African club games at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar as they renovate their stadium in Aba.
But it was learnt that CAF have suspended the Calabar stadium following complaints from opposing teams.
Enyimba played their first home match in Group C of the Confed Cup against Malian side AC Djoliba in Calabar, which they won 2-0 back in early May.
The club earlier tweeted that the People’s Elephant would play their matches at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, but the tournament organisers have since changed this.
“CAF just informed us we would have to play in Port Harcourt – at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium starting from July 18,” the club’s head of media Farriel Allaputa is quoted by The Punch.
“Our request to use the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo could have been late for CAF to grant.”
Enyimba are placed third in Group C with three points from two matches. Their opening 2-0 win over Djoliba was followed by a 3-0 loss away to CARA Brazzaville.
They will host Ivorian side Williamsville in Port Harcourt on July 18 when the tournament resumes next midweek.
