Ghana’s Aduana Stars have named Japanese-American Kenichi Yatshuhashi as their new coach, replacing the sacked Yusif Abubakar.

The Dormaa-based club have parted ways with Abubakar less than nine months after he masterminded their run to the Ghana Premier League title.

Yatshuhashi was fired from another Ghanaian team Inter Allies, after he was accused of gross indiscipline and insubordination.

Aduana Stars have endured a tough time in the 2018 GPL season, as they lie 14th on the league table with a meagre total of 14 points from 12 matches – though they are three games behind schedule due to their CAF club commitments this year.

They are also bottom of Group A in the CAF Confederation Cup, with their two results thus far a 1-0 loss away to ASEC Mimosas and a 3-3 draw at home to Raja Casablanca.

Yatshuhashi held his first training session with the club at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park on Wednesday after his appointment.

His first match in charge of Stars will be in the CAF Confederation Cup next week Wednesday, as they face DR Congo giants AS Vita at home.
