As they get ready to face Township Rollers in their third CAF Champions league match on Tuesday, Al Ahly skipper Hossam Ashour has banked on their experience.
The Red Devils are yet to get a win in the tournament as they sit at the bottom of the group with a point.
Ashour has stressed that the team is well prepared to face the Botswana giants in the third round of their CAF Champions League group stage.
Under the guidance of coach Patrice Carteron, the Egyptians are trailing in the African competition’s Group A and are hoping to recover with a win over Rollers on Tuesday.
The Red Devils are the bottom of their group with one point from their draw against Esperance and a loss to Kampala Capital City Authority in the first and second rounds respectively.
“We experienced a similar situation in the 2013 Champions League when we drew against Zamalek and lost to Orlando Pirates in the second round,” Ashour said.
“In the third round we regained ourselves and defeated Congo’s AC Léopards and then went far until we triumphed the competition.”
Ashour also asserted that they have the desire to reverse the course and that all players are up to the responsibility.
