Al Hilal and UD Songo will meet for a must-win CAF Confederation Cup group stage clash at the Al Hilal Stadium in Omdurman on Wednesday, July 18, kick-off at 21h00 CAT.
Sudan’s Hilal come into the game placed third on the Group B standings after claiming just one point from their first two matches.
The Blue Wave were beaten 1-0 in Morocco by hosts RS Berkane and then claimed a 1-1 draw at home to Egypt’s Al Masry in mid-May, before the continental tournament went on recess for the 2018 World Cup.
Mozambican side UD Songo have had an even tougher time of it and are placed at the bottom of the log after suffering back-to-back defeats.
The Cahora-Bassa-based side opened their first Confed Cup group stage campaign with a 2-0 loss at Al Masry and then slumped to a 2-0 defeat at home to Berkane.
Both teams are in fine form at the domestic level, with Hilal’s 4-0 win over Merreikh El-Fasher last Saturday bringing them a fifth successive Sudani Premier League win, while Songo beat Primeiro de Maio 1-0 in late June to register a fifth successive unbeaten game in the Mocambola.
Namibian referee Jackson Pavaza will take charge of the match in Omdurman, while the other Group B game sees RSB host Masry in Berkane at 21h00 CAT.
