Gor Mahia are out to secure their first CAF Confederation Cup group stage win on Wednesday when they meet Young Africans.

The Group D clash will be staged at Moi International Sports Centre at 18:00 (CAT).

The match is seen as an East African derby and the Kenyans are at home as they seek to dominate their visiting neighbours.

K’Ogalo will want to claim their first win in the group after opening with a draw against Rayon Sports of Rwanda before playing to a stalemate against USM Alger.

Coach Dylan Kerr is aware that for them to keep their knockout stage qualification hopes alive, they must secure the full three points on Wednesday.

They occupy the second spot in Group D with two points from their opening draws and a win will move them to five points on the log table.

However, a look at the bottom-placed Yanga, they have nothing to lose in the clash as they will want to chase their first win as well.

Having conceded four goals and yet to score in their campaign thus far, the Tanzanians are under pressure as they target a morale boosting victory.

This will be the first clash in a CAF competition between the twos sides, but Gor have bagged a 2-1 win over their opponents back in 2015 in a regional clash.
