Aduana Stars head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi has lauded his charges after their hard-fought victory over DR Congo champions AS Vita in a CAF Confederation Cup match.
Bright Adjei and Yahaya Mohammed both scored as the Fire Boys defeated the Dolphins 2-1 in a Group A match which was played at the Agyeman Badu Stadium in Dormaa Ahenkro, Ghana on Wednesday.
This is despite lack of competitive games with the Ghana Premier League having been suspended.
Stars are now placed second on the Group A standings - a point behind the leaders Vita with three games left.
"It was an extremely difficult match for me and Aduana because we had a strong opponent. I have to credit our visitors for the good fight they put up," Kenichi said on Ghana Soccer Net.
"I already knew Aduana had good players before I joined so despite the limited time, I only blended them together and added few tactics to their game plan which worked for us.
"The pitch was a little difficult to play on for both clubs but the players played to the instructions given them and were ready to fight for the club," he continued.
"With this win, the group is now open so we'll see what will happen in the other games left," he concluded.
The reigning Ghana Premier League champions will take on Vita away in another Group A match on the 29th of July 2018.
The encounter will be played at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa.
