Despite losing their first major game of the season after going down 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Shell Helix Cup, Kaizer Chiefs’ new signing Khama Billiat says they will win silverware this 2018/19 season.
The Brazilians were crowned champions of the inaugural pre-season competition at FNB Stadium on Saturday thanks to goals from Jeremy Brockie and Themba Zwane whilst Bernard Parker scored for Chiefs.
Billiat joined the Amakhosi in July from Sundowns and admitted it was tough playing against his former teammates.
“I must say it’s always tough, but it makes a player better and better. I know they know me and I know them and you have to come up with something new so your game can improve every time,” said Billiat after the game.
“So I think my teammates give me courage and support. They knew it was going to be tough, but I’m looking forward to the great family I have and the support here at this team. I’m sure we can achieve something.”
